To apply for the PhD in Economics, applicants must submit via the online application portal:

  • Completed application.
  • A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Official transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions (including international institutions — these must be evaluated for U.S. equivalence).
  • A personal statement (2–3 pages, double-spaced) describing: past relevant work or research, motivation for PhD study, potential research interests, and any prior faculty-supervised projects.
  • A current résumé or CV.
  • Three letters of recommendation (submitted via BusinessCAS).
  • Official GRE General Test scores (less than 5 years old) — GRE is required for all PhD applicants.
  • For international applicants (non-native English speakers, or those whose degrees were not completed in English), a valid English-proficiency test result:
    • TOEFL iBT minimum: 94
    • Or IELTS minimum: 7.0
