- In January 2023, Claudio Rizzi, a doctoral candidate in Finance at MHBS, was awarded a $20,000 top prize from BlackRock, a leading investment and risk management firm, for his study “Nature as a Defense from Disasters: Natural Capital and Municipal Bond Yields.” Read More.
- In 2023, Boshuo Li, a doctoral student in Strategy/IB, and his advisor, Dr. Wei Shi, won a competitive research grant from the Ford Foundation to study the cost and benefits of human capital management transparency.
- In 2022, Boshuo Li won the Miami Herbert Ph.D. Student Research Award and the Miami Herbert Ph.D. Student Teaching Award.
- In August 2023, Shiyi Zhang, a doctoral candidate in finance was selected as one of the finalists for the 2023 Dr. Richard A. Crowell Memorial Prize Paper Competition organized by PanAgora Asset Management’s Quantitative Research Institute.
- In August 2023, Miami Herbert hosted a new doctoral students’ orientation. A total number of 13 doctoral students joined Ph.D. programs in Business and Economics.
