In 2018 Gabelli Funds created the “The Hertz Prize” to honor Arthur H. Hertz. Mr. Hertz was called “a 305 icon” by many of our community leaders. He was a proud UM alum, and was highly respected for his ability to distill complex financial and accounting issues into easy-to-understand concepts.
Beyond his many business qualities, Mr. Hertz was a man of impeccable ethics and great generosity and devoted his time, talent, and treasure to improve the lives of those less fortunate. He graduated with honors from the Miami Herbert Business School with a B.B.A. in 1955. His lifelong dedication to the University of Miami spans more than 35 years of service and leadership on the University of Miami Board of Trustees.
We invite graduating seniors majoring in accounting or finance with a 3.5 GPA or higher during the spring semester of their graduating year to apply for a chance to become a Hertz Prize Scholar.
